In Memorium

I have great memories of my years at Elmhurst High School. But memories can also be sad. Even though as a Christian I believe in the resurrection, the death of a classmate brings sadness. As John Donne put it: No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main: if a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less …”

So it is that we are less because of the death of our classmates. They were part of us. But let us remember them in our prayers, keep them in our hearts, and recall with joy the times we have shared and God’s love that has blessed them.
